The Williamson County Courthouse Pt 2
This is the second part of my posts about the Williamson County Courthouse, in Williamson County, Texas. The first post dealt with the felony District Courts and other District Courts on the first floor. This post will focus on the misdemeanor County Courts at Law, along with the Civil and Probate Court, CPS Cases and Attorney General Court Cases. All these Courts/Offices are located on the Second Floor of the Courthouse. Here is a quick guide to navigating the Second Floor of the Williamson County Courthouse.
Williamson County Courts at Law
Currently, Williamson County has 4 total County Courts at law. Some of these Courts, like the District Courts, have special assignments. These special assignments help to divide the workload of cases. Whether these cases involve Texas CPS, Family Law Cases, Misdemeanor Criminal Cases, Civil Cases, or Probate Cases, there is usually a direction that your case can head down.
Williamson County Court at Law 1
Williamson County Court 1 is presided over by Judge Suzanne Brooks. Judge Brooks handles misdemeanor criminal cases and Child Protective Services (CPS) cases. Judge Brooks handles DWI, Possession of Marijuana cases, family violence cases, etc…
Where is County Court at Law 1?
Once you get out of the elevator or stairs, make a right and go all the way down the hall. Judge Brooks’ Court is the last one on the left.
Williamson County Court at Law 2
Williamson County Court 2 is presided over by three rotating Judges. The prior Judge was removed from office. Court 2 oversees about 50% of the criminal cases that go through Williamson County. This is a whopping number since the county’s population has exploded. As a result, this Court is exclusively dedicated to criminal cases.

Once you get out of the elevator or stairs, make a right and go to the second Courtroom door on the left.
Williamson County Court at Law 3
Williamson County Court 1 is presided over by Judge Doug Arnold. Judge Arnold handles misdemeanor criminal cases and family law cases. When you first get off the elevator, or out of the stairs, Judge Arnold’s Court is third set of doors to your right. Judge Arnold handles DWI, Possession of Marijuana cases, family violence cases, divorce, child custody etc…
Where is County Court at Law 3?
Once you get out of the elevator or stairs, make a right and go to the third Courtroom door on the left. This is Judge Arnold’s Court.
Williamson County Court at Law 4
Williamson County Court 4 is presided over by John McMaster. Judge McMaster handles the civil cases in Williamson County. When you first get off the elevator, or out of the stairs, Judge McMaster’s Court is right in front of you. Judge McMaster handles probate/wills, civil cases, and family law cases.
Where is County Court at Law 4?
Once you get out of the elevator or stairs, make a right and go to the First Courtroom door on the left. This is Judge McMaster’s Court.
Other Courts/Departments in the Wilco Courthouse
Williamson Count Attorney General’s Court
In Texas, the Attorney General’s Office usually handles paternity cases, non payment of child support cases, and issues involving the state and children (non-cps).
Where is the Attorney General Court?
Once you get out of the elevator or stairs, make a right and go to the far end of the building. The AG-IV Court will be on your left and it will be between Judge Arnold’s Court in County Court at Law 3 and Judge Brooks’ Court in County Court at Law 1.
Williamson County Attorney’s Office
The Williamson County Attorney’s Office prosecutes misdemeanor cases in Williamson County. These include Class A and B misdemeanors and Class C Misdemeanors in the Justice of the Peace 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Where is the Williamson County Attorney’s Office?
Once you get out of the elevator or stairs, make a right and the County Attorney’s Office will be on the left, and it will be between Judge Arnold’s Court and the Attorney General’s Court.
Williamson County Clerk, Criminal Division’s Office
The Williamson County Clerk, Criminal Division handles the Court records and filings for all misdemeanors in Williamson County. If you need to get copies of files made, pay fines, Court costs, etc… in your criminal case, this is where you go.
Where is the Williamson County Clerk, Criminal Division’s Office?
Once you get out of the elevator or stairs, make a right and their office will be on the right side, and it will be at the far end of the Courthouse, across from Judge Brooks’ Court.
Williamson County Clerk, Civil and Probate Division’s Office
The Williamson County Clerk, Civil Division handles the Court records and filings for all civil lawsuits and Probate records in Williamson County. If you need to file your lawsuit, file your Answer, Letters Testamentary, get copies of files made, etc… in your civil or probate case, this is where you go.

Once you get out of the elevator or stairs, make a left and their office will be right in front of you, behind a brown wooden door.
